Cinematic Life in Oslo (Where Else?)

“REPRISE,” the first feature by the director Joachim Trier, is set in Norway’s capital, Oslo. It’s not a city that often turns up on American screens, but for some viewers the film will be as familiar as the bedrooms and bull sessions of their formative years. This portrait of the artist as a young man is lovingly bedecked with the accessories of a certain type of intellectual in training: the Bataille and Barthes paperbacks, the punk-rock posters and LPs.
